SWEEPING DC ZONING CHANGES ARE NEARLY APPROVED WHICH WILL IMPACT YOU. PLEASE ATTEND A MEETING BY OFFICE OF ZONING TO UNDERSTAND AND REGISTER CONCERNS. THIS IS THE LAST CHANCE AS SOME RULES ARE BEING AMMENDED ALREADY.
Approximately 1,000 changes to current zoning codeAt least five key changes proposed impacting homeowners.
1.     Elimination of requirements to build ANY parking for new developments.
2.     Redefine (reduces effective height) possible maximum for single family dwellings.
3.     Reduces number of units residential homeowners can have in their homes.
4.     Adds commercial property into residential blocks. (currently implied is very restricted used stores on residential streets)
5. Introduces “transit zones” with special rules which are unclear but language is less restrictive for developers.
